Prints Available Again in Etsy Shop!!
I am so excited to let you all know that I have prints available in my Etsy shop again!! After I had my son Carter in 2015, I had to stop shipping prints and products because I didn't have enough time. But I recently decided it was time to make them available again! I will be adding prints first and then stickers and sticker sets. Hopefully eventually I will have other products as well.
I have the first five images up in my shop available as ACEO, 5x7 and 8x10 prints. All orders will also come beautifully wrapped! https://www.etsy.com/shop/aurella27 It will take me awhile to get all my images back up, so if you're interested in ordering but don't see the image you're after, I'm always happy to set up a custom order! Thank you so much for your support! |

New Coloring Page - Khepri!
A brand new coloring page has flown into my shop today on her magic carpet! This is Khepri and she is an Egyptian genie. She's flying on her magic carpet with her cat friend and has a beautiful, ornate headdress that mimics her friend's ears. You can see the pyramids in the distance as she's flying past them through the clouds. This was a different subject matter for me, but one that I had a lot of fun with! This will be another page that will be included in my upcoming Spellbinding Images: Volume 7: Familiars coloring book that will be released in 2020. I hope you enjoy this new page!

New Coloring Page - Carly!
If you're looking for something fun to color, head on over to my shop where I've just added a brand new coloring page! This one is based off a sketch that I drew for someone who requested a curvy geisha woman in a zen garden type setting with a panda companion. There are lots of fun details to color in this one and I hope you enjoy it!

I have some super exciting 🎃 SPOOKY 🎃 news to share with you all!!! I am beyond thrilled to have been included in Colouring Heaven's Halloween Special Edition coloring magazine that is out right now!!
This 40 page issue includes myself and 5 other amazing Halloween artists. I have 7 illustrations inside the book that I hope you all really enjoy coloring!🎨 If you aren't familiar with Colouring Heaven's magazines, you should definitely check them out! They are printed on really nice, heavy paper, are single sided, and are a joy to color in. They also like to feature so many incredible artists so it's a great way to find new artists whose work you enjoy coloring! You can read more about the special Halloween issue on their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/1461766297470008/posts/2334378240208805?sfns=mo You can purchase a single issue here: https://shop.anthem-publishing.com/store/products,54-halloween-special_1202.htm Or subscribe to continue getting amazing coloring magazines throughout the year! https://shop.anthem-publishing.com/all-products/colouring-heaven-magazine.htm You can also spot these magazines out in the world at various retailers! I've seen them at Barnes and Noble before and I think some Michaels carry them as well. But not all stores are the same, so you would need to check with your individual store to see if they're available. :D They have a store locator available, but I think it may only work for UK postcodes: http://services.marketforce.co.uk/storelocator/search.aspx If you see the book at any retailers or purchase one yourself, I'd love to hear about it!! And I would especially love to see your colorings. Thanks as always for your support of my art. It means the world to me!! |

Coloring Page Set Now Available!
A few years ago, I co-illustrated a coloring book with fellow artist BreAnna Friedman called The Everyday Witch's Coloring Book: A Journey into Wicca. In the coloring book, I created 8 illustrations depicting the Wiccan Sabbats: Samhain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas and Mabon.
They are honestly some of my most favorite illustrations that I've ever created. By working with BreAnna, I was able to incorporate so many symbols and elements to make these illustrations highly detailed and hopefully very fun to color! I've decided to make these 8 pages available as a separate coloring page set that you can download and print yourself! I really hope you enjoy them and I can't wait to see your creations! |
New Caynna Coloring Page!
A new digital coloring page featuring a steampunk character named Caynna and her golden retriever friend is up in my shop! This character was inspired by one of my lovely subscribers over on Twitch. She wanted me to sketch her a steampunk character with a golden retriever and this is what we came up with! It's definitely one of my most complex illustrations to date. I can't wait to see what you all create with her!

New Callie Grayscale Coloring Page!
I have a new grayscale coloring page available in my digital shop! This is a cosmic cupcake fairy that I actually painted digitally for the cover of one of my newest coloring books. I think she will be a very fun image to color with all of the sparkles and color choices you could make. I chose galaxy colors of purple, teal, blue and pink but really the choices are endless! I hope you all have a lot of fun with her and I can't wait to see your creations!
New Izzy Coloring Page!
I just finished up a brand new coloring page that's available in my digital shop here! This fairy is named Izzy and I drew her based on the idea of one of my lovely Subscribers over on Twitch. She wanted a fairy on top of a mushroom with a dragonfly companion. I had a lot of fun drawing all the grass and mushrooms in this piece. Her wings were also a joy to draw.
She will be appearing in my upcoming Spellbinding Images Volume 7: Familiars. I've already finished several illustrations for this coloring book and you can buy them all as single printable pages in my shop for now! Once I finish the book, all 20 illustrations will be available in a physical book on Amazon. I hope you all like how this one turned out!

NEW Diamond Painting Kits!!
I'm so excited to share a brand new product with you all! I'm now offering my art on Diamond Painting Kits!! I'm always thrilled to offer my art on products like coloring books and craft kits that allow you to use my art to make your own art. It makes me so happy!
Diamond Painting Kits are sort of like cross stitch, except you apply small resin rhinestones to an adhesive canvas instead of using thread. It is one of the most relaxing and gratifying crafts I have ever tried!
I'm working with a fantastic manufacturing company that creates really high quality kits. These kits include everything that you need to get started! It comes with a stamped canvas, all the rhinestones that you need, and tools to apply the rhinestones. The canvases are very durable and cannot be easily damaged. They have very strong glue to hold the rhinestones down. The printing is also very good quality so that you can easily read the symbols. The rhinestones are made from resin. I've seen many of them completely finished and they are BEAUTIFUL!!!
You can see all my kits available here and I'm releasing more all the time!

New Painting Aeryn and Easton!
I'm so excited to let you all know that I finished a painting....yay! I know that my new painting releases seem to be few and far between lately, and it's all because I'm busy at my other job (being a full time, stay at home mom)! But I'm hoping to squeeze in some more time to paint and will hopefully release new ones more frequently.
This painting is titled Aeryn and Easton and it was a commissioned painting. Aeryn and Easton is the 3rd painting in a series of elemental witch paintings. They all have the same setting, but the witch and familiar change with each one. I have now completed air, water and fire and I only have earth left! I just added Aeryn and Easton to my Redbubble shop! You can purchase prints of her and also find her on a variety of products like cell phone cases, clocks, pillows, clothing and more! You can also color Aeryn and Easton yourself. I have a grayscale and lineart version of her available in my Etsy shop. |
Buy me a coffee! New Ko-fi!!
I just created a Ko-fi account which is something that I've been wanting to do for awhile! Have you ever heard of Ko-fi? It's a place where you can support your favorite creators! Buy them a cup of coffee, give them a tip and help them live their dreams!
https://ko-fi.com/nikkiburnette
My art business has changed a -lot- since I've had kids! I used to be able to maintain a thriving Etsy shop with a huge variety of prints and products, release tons of new originals every month, sketch all the time and so much more. If you've been following me for awhile you've probably noticed that I've slowed down a ton since I've had my two small children.
Being a stay at home mom now is my main priority and takes up the biggest chunk of my time. But I still love creating my art and my business still plays a vital role in our family. Are you ready for some full disclosure here?....it's HARD! I struggle with finding a balance between mom and artist every single day.
I've had several people ask how they can continue to support my art during this period of my life, and I thought that Ko-fi might be a good idea! It's a quick and easy way to show your support. There is no monthly subscription and nothing 'extra' to deal with. You just tip and you're on your way!
Ko-fi refers to it as "Buying me a cup of coffee" which is a fun way to explain what you're doing! But your donations go directly to supporting my dream and helping me continue to create art for a living. Thanks to each and every one of you for your support throughout my art career! It means the world to me. <3 <3 <3

Red Bubble Store!
I'm so excited, because I have been working on my Red Bubble store and my artwork is now available on all sorts of products again! Recently, I have had to scale back on selling and shipping my own prints and products. Being a stay at home mom, left me little time for product creation and fulfillment. So for now, I think Red Bubble is an amazing option to offer my art to you!
I'm going to be working on adding to it, but I have quite a few images and products up there already! You can navigate all the products on the left hand side or browse by image. Red Bubble has a TON of different products like mini skirts, leggings, travel, mugs, clocks, postcards and more! I hope you enjoy this new way to buy my art! |

- Product Advice and Reviews

It is my cute steampunk girl, Riley, holding the dapper tabby cat with a monocle. But....it is not -just- a grayscale coloring page. It's a grayscale coloring page PACK that includes all sorts of things!
- You will receive files where you can choose your own difficulty level. Darker grayscale images allow more of the shadows to show through when coloring on top, so that minimal shading is needed. Lighter grayscale images are for those people who want more of a challenge, because you will need to do a lot of the shading yourself. It all comes down to how much you want the grayscale image to "aid" you. So I have included three variations of the grayscale coloring page tailored towards a beginner, intermediate and advanced skill level.
- You can also choose your own border option! I have provided images with no border, a black border and a lace border for each difficulty level.
- Each difficulty level also includes a tester sheet that is formatted to fit on one 8.5x11" sheet of paper. It has a colored image of my original artwork, 6 small tester grayscale images and a section for notes and scribbles. This will be very handy to have around when you are coloring your image.
- And you will also receive a PDF with basic instructions and techniques with links to tutorials created specifically for Riley!
If you wanted to try grayscale coloring, I have a freebie grayscale image you can download here. Color it and see if you enjoy it!

November 11, 2015 - Carter is here!
Carter is here!! Well, actually he's been here since September 15th, but as you can see I haven't had a chance to update my site in a couple months! I guess having a newborn might have something to do with that. ;)
Carter Reid was born on September 15th at 9:43 am and weighed 6 pounds and 12 ounces. The delivery went wonderfully and we both did great.
We've spent these past couple months getting to know each other. He is such a fantastic baby and is already sleeping through the night. Of course being a full time mom to 2 now and trying to run my art business presents a whole new set of challenges, but I try to take it one day at a time (sometimes one hour at a time lol) and concentrate on the positive instead of focusing on the hard parts. I want to enjoy it as much as possible, because having done it once now, I know it goes by waaaaaaay too fast!
So I just wanted to introduce you all to our new bundle of joy! And clue you in as to why you might not see as many updates from me lol. My husband and I are both thrilled to have a new addition to our family, and Ariana is loving being a big sister!

September 10, 2015 - New Painting! Shea
I'm so excited that I managed to finish another new painting before the birth of my 2nd child!! He is due October 1st, so he'll probably make his arrival any day now. But it was great to be able to complete this new watercolor painting, Shea!
Shea is a commissioned painting and is the result of one of my Adoptable Images. This is where you commission me to finish up an existing sketch and you get to choose the colors! My client couldn't have chosen better colors for this piece. Purple, pink and red are definitely some of my favorites to use! I also got to paint a light-grey cat, a color of cat that doesn't usually make an appearance in my art. I tend to make the cats black, dark grey, tuxedo or tabby, but I find this light grey one extra cute! Since this is a commissioned painting, the original is already sold, but prints and products will soon be available in my Etsy shop. You can also always contact me directly to purchase prints if I haven't had a chance to get them set up in my Etsy shop. ACEO prints are $4, 5x7" prints are $8 and 8x10" prints are $13! I hope you enjoy the way Shea turned out! |
August 14, 2015 - New Painting and Update! Chelsea
Hi everyone!! I know it's been a long time since I've updated my website, so I just wanted to give you a quick run down on what's been going on in my life so far in 2015. Firstly, my husband and I found out in January that we are expecting our 2nd child! We are so excited. We later found out that we're having a boy which is so fun because we'll have a girl and boy. It will be great to discover the differences between the two! He will be arriving around October 1st of this year!
Another reason that I haven't been creating art for awhile is because we moved in May of this year! It was a big move for us even though we're still living in Columbus, Ohio. It was a lot of planning from fall of last year until we finally moved into our new home. We're so excited to be here and have a wonderful home to raise our family in. But my things were tied up in boxes for a long time. I was just recently able to get everything unpacked and ready to go again!
This means that my Etsy store is once again fully operational which I'm so excited about! I'm offering my full product line again (prints, stickers, magnets, notepads, coloring page packs and much much more!). There will be a brief downtime when I have my son around October, but I'm planning on it only being 2-3 weeks at the most and not months!
I also have more energy these days so I'm creating again. I've been sketching and painting which feels wonderful! I actually just finished up my first painting since last year shown here, Chelsea. This was a haunted house cuckoo clock painting that I started last year. It was so much fun to work on and a very unique piece for me. Usually my characters are the central focus of my paintings, but this time the witch was teeny tiny while the haunted house was the focal point. It was very enjoyable to paint something so different! I hope you all enjoy it! If you want to reserve the painting, please contact me by email ([email protected]) or private message! The painting is $150 (plus shipping). It is an 8x10" watercolor, watercolor pencil, gouache, and ink painting. If I don't get any reserves on it, it will be going up for auction over on my Fan Page. Thank you so much!!

September 14, 2014 - New Painting! Rylan
Well, the days are getting colder and much more fall-like up here in Columbus, Ohio which means that my favorite holiday is right around the corner....Halloween!! I of course couldn't let a Halloween season go by without at least doing 1 new Halloween witch painting. So here she is! Her name is Rylan and she's actually a sketch that I drew a couple years ago. But I really liked her and knew I wanted to paint her at some point. I decided to paint her in really bright, fun, Halloween colors of purple, pink, green, orange and black. This was such a fun one to do! I enjoyed it every step of the way. The original painting is up for auction now through the month of September here.
August 27, 2014 - New Painting! Leslie
Leslie is another finished result of one of my Adoptable Images. You can commission me to take one of my existing sketches and turn it into a finished painting for you where you get to choose the colors! These are always so much fun for me to do because they often end up turning out much different than I originally pictured them in my head when I was sketching them and developing the character. That was the case for Leslie. I originally thought she would be Little Red Riding Hood, but my client requested colors of blue and green which ended up looking so beautiful! But much different than my original idea. I love how these are a collaboration of sorts between my client and I. So fun! Anyhow, the original of Leslie is already sold but prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.
August 7, 2014 - New Painting! Brinley
Brinley is a cute little dragonfly fairy that I just finished painting! She is the finished result of one of my "Adoptable Images" where you can adopt one of my sketches and have me complete a finished painting of it and you get to choose the colors! My client chose really awesome colors I think. My favorite part to work on was her bright, vivid blue hair. I also had a lot of fun painting her dragonfly wings. Did you know this is my first dragonfly fairy? I hope that you all enjoy Brinley! The original painting is of course sold already, but prints and products will be available in my Etsy shop here.
July 15, 2014 - New Painting! Cadence
I'm so excited to share my newest painting with you all! Her name is Cadence and she is done in a brand new style that I'm experimenting with. I thought it would be fun to create a new look for some of my characters and draw them with bigger heads, big sparkly eyes, pear shaped bodies and make them more doll-like. Cadence is my first finished painting done in this style, and I really hope that you all enjoy her! I painted her in shades of purple, blue, green, pink and yellow and then added some words that I find inspirational. I think that this new style of mine would look so beautiful in a baby's nursery or child's room! The original painting was given to some close friends for their baby girl's nursery, but prints and products will soon be available in my Etsy shop here.
June 16, 2014 - New Painting! Priscilla
Priscilla was created for the Femme Thou Art Collective's Poisonous themed auction. All the artists in the collective created paintings related to poison. The first thing that came to my mind was a witch holding a poisonous potion bottle. I also couldn't get the image of an Alphonse Mucha inspired background out of my mind. So I created a witch standing in front of a full moon, looking over her shoulder holding the bottle with a background of symmetrical swirls and designs. The original painting is currently up for auction along with prints and the original sketch. You can find the auction here. Prints and products will soon be available in my Etsy shop here.
June 10, 2014 - New Painting! Shaylee
This is the result of one of my Adoptable Images. I created the sketch awhile back for Sketch Fest and was then commissioned later to create a finished painting of this cute little mermaid in a bath tub. My client got to choose the colors and I'm so glad that she went for bright, vivid shades as those are always my favorite to paint! The original painting is of course sold, but prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.
March 17, 2014 - New Painting! Esme
Esme was created for the Femme Thou Art Collective's Monochrome Madness themed auction. All the artists in the collective created paintings that had black, white and one other color in them. This was a sketch that I drew a couple years ago and decided to finish for the auction. I thought she'd look very chic in shades of black and white with brightly colored blue hair. I was a little scared to create a grey skin tone, but ended up really pleased with it! This original is still available for purchase. Please contact me if you're interested in purchasing it! Prints and products are up in my Etsy shop here.
|
April 29, 2014 - New Painting! Dorothy
Dorothy is another commissioned painting and is the result of one of my Adoptable Images. I created the sketch and then was commissioned to create a finished painting of her! My client and I decided to go with traditional Wizard of Oz - Dorothy colors except for her hair. We decided on bright, ruby red to sort of mimic her red slippers. The original is sold, but prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.

May 15, 2014 - New Painting! Jolene
Jolene was created for the Femme Thou Art Collective's Postcard from the Edge themed auction. All the artists in the collective created paintings that were postcard sized (4x6"). This painting actually started out with a mistake. I splattered ink on it as I was inking it, so I decided to experiment. In the end, the experiment turned out really neat and I managed to cover up the ink blot! I really liked making this piece and will probably make more mermaids in this series. The original sold in the auction, but prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.

February 3, 2014 - New Painting! Natalya
Natalya is a commissioned painting and another result of one of my Adoptable Images. My client commissioned me to finish up one of my sketches and she got to choose the colors! This was a really challenging piece for me as the gypsy caravan was such a huge element in the painting. I created a wood grain texture that I felt added a lot to the piece and in the end I was quite pleased with how it came out! The original is sold, but prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.
|
February 17, 2014 - New Painting! Adeline ACEO
Adeline was created for the Femme Thou Art Collective's Brown, Moths and Melancholy themed auction. All the artists in the collective had to create a painting that had moths, the color brown and a sense of melancholy. This was a challenge for me as emotion is not something I tend to portray too much in my characters. But I was really happy with how this piece turned out! The moths were especially interesting to research with all their beautiful patterns. The original painting is still available for sale! If you're interested, please contact me. Prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.
|
March 11, 2014 - New Painting! Portrait of Morrigane
Some of you may recognize this character! This is Morrigane and I created a larger painting of her awhile back. My client that commissioned that painting, wanted a smaller, portrait type painting of the same character so this is what we came up with! The original is sold, but prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.
|
November 8, 2013 - New Painting! Laina
Laina was created for the Bubblegum Dreams Collective "Going Nuts" themed auction. All the artists in the collective had to create a piece related to nuts or going nuts. At first, I was totally stumped! But then I got the idea to create a dryad and was thrilled at the chance to finally paint one with a stag. The original painting is still for sale, so if you're interested please contact me! Prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.
|
November 18, 2013 - New Painting! Esmeralda
Esmeralda was created for the Femme Thou Art Collective's "Birthstone" themed auction. All of the artists in the collective were assigned a birthstone and we had to create a painting based on that stone. My birthstone was May's stone, Emerald. This was a fun, yet different piece for me! The original is still available for sale! If you're interested, please contact me. Prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.
|
December 17, 2013 - New Painting! Cleopatra ACEO
Cleopatra was created for the Femme Thou Art Collective's "Shakespeare" themed auction. I jumped at the chance to draw Cleopatra, because I've been wanting to create an Egyptian themed piece forever. The original is still available for sale! If you're interested, please contact me. Prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.

September 12, 2013 - New Painting! Josie
Josie was the first piece that I managed to finish after having my little Ariana. I really enjoyed getting back into painting after such a long break. Josie is the end result of one of my "Adoptable" sketches. The person who commissioned me to do this got to choose all the colors. It was so much fun and I hope you enjoy the end result! The original is of course sold, but prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here!
|
October 18, 2013 - New Painting! Charlotte
Charlotte was also a sketch that was adopted and the person who commissioned this piece got to choose the colors and decide how I finished her. Painting all these wonderful fall colors was so enjoyable for me. Autumn is my favorite time of year and this piece includes so many of those great colors and feelings of fall! The original Charlotte is sold as well, but prints and products are available here.
|
October 29, 2013 - New Painting! Taryn
I couldn't let the Halloween season end without painting a Halloween piece! I had a ton of commissions and obligations going on, but I just had to take some time and paint this piece. I included everything that makes me enjoy this holiday so much...witches, black cats, bats, pumpkins, the moon...so fun! The original of Taryn sold in an auction, but prints and products are available here.

September 9, 2013 - Ariana is Here!
Hi everyone! I know it's been awhile since I've been around, but I've been enjoying my new little bundle of joy so much! I've been loving motherhood this past month while I've been getting to know Ariana. The time has been so great. I feel like we've been able to bond so much and I can't imagine life without her now!
She really is a great baby! Of course she's my first, so I have nothing to compare her to but she sleeps so well and is such a happy little thing. She's already giving me lots of sleep at night and I only have to get up once or twice to feed her. During the day, she loves playing on her activity mat, swinging in her swing, going for walks in her stroller and cuddling with her mom and dad!
I feel like things have been getting easier and we've been getting more on a routine, so the good news is that I'm going to be getting back into my artwork! I'll be reopening my Etsy shop and I will also start resuming commission work. I can't promise that I will be as proficient or fast as I was before, but I'm sure it will get easier the more I do it as I figure out how to do my artwork and take care of my little one at the same time.
I really appreciate all the well wishes and your patience while I've been adjusting to motherhood! I especially am so thankful for those of you who I'm working with on commissioned pieces for being so understanding about the time that I've taken off. I will definitely begin working on them again and will get them finished up as soon as I can!

May 24, 2013 - New Painting! MintySorry for the Christmas themed painting in May! But please meet Minty, my peppermint fairy. She was a commissioned piece that was purchased back in 2012, but because of other pieces I was working on with the client, she just got finished up last month. But people eat peppermint year round, so I figure she's not too out of place. Since this was a commissioned piece, the original has been sold, but prints and products will be available in my Etsy shop soon!

May 24, 2013 - New Painting! Beatrix
This is Beatrix another commissioned painting. She was painted to go along with my first zombie painting, Lexy. I think they make a sexy zombie pair! Don't you? I really had a lot of fun painting all the tattoo inspired elements in this painting like the banner and roses. The original of this painting has also been sold, but I'm beginning to add prints and products in my Etsy store here.
|
May 24, 2013 - New Painting! Coraline
And last but not least, please meet Coraline! Now I know she's a Halloween painting....you all must really think I have my seasons screwed up. But, if you've followed my work you know that I love to paint witches and Halloween related paintings year round. This one was no exception! I enjoyed taking a different spin on this piece by painting a pretty pastel background. I think it gives it more of a spring/summer feeling. This was also a commissioned painting, but prints and products will be available soon here!

May 24, 2013 - ACEO Print Sale on eBay!
I decided to do something fun and have an ACEO print sale on eBay!! I listed every single painting that I've ever created since beginning my art career way back in 2005 as an ACEO print on eBay. They are all 7 day auctions starting at only $2. The regular retail price of my ACEOs is $4, so you can snag a bargain if you decide to bid on them!
There are 117 different images to choose from including some of my first paintings that I ever created. But there are also all of my brand new ones and most popular ones to purchase as well!
Boy was it a trip down memory lane as I was going through all of these images. My style changed dramatically at one point when I came up with a different process to sketch and then transfer my linework to my finished watercolor paper. Because of this change, I was able to sketch more realistic figures and add more detail into my final paintings. When my style made the big change, I sort of "retired" all my very first pieces and they haven't been available for purchase for many years. But for this sale, I thought it would be fun to bring them back because there were a lot of you who were very fond of these pieces and many of you who have never had a chance to purchase them or even see them before!
To view and bid on my ACEO print sale, visit this link.
Here are some of my really old pieces that are up for grabs. This will probably be one of the only times, if not the only time, I decide to offer these pieces, so if you're interested I'd snag them now!

March 19, 2013 - New Painting - Personal Commission
Whew! I sure have been busy lately. This is the third painting that I've wrapped up in the past couple weeks. And this is definitely a special one! I was approached a few months ago by a wonderful customer of mine who wanted a stylized portrait commission of her and her daughter.
Now those of you who follow my work know that I usually only paint things with wings, hats, fangs, tails, etc... lol. And I have never painted any children before. But this customer is so important to me, I just couldn't say no! And I'm really glad that I didn't.
It was such a challenging piece, but I really feel like I pushed myself a lot on this painting. And I'm really happy I got the opportunity to work on such a special piece for a special person! I hope that you all enjoy it.

March 19, 2013 - New Painting - Alondra & Medwin
I have another exciting new painting to share with you all today! This was another commissioned painting titled Alondra & Medwin. This is part of a 4 painting series of elemental witches. I have already completed the first in the series "Serafina & Firenze" that depicts the fire element. Alondra & Medwin is the second in the series and depicts the water element.
This was such a fun piece to paint and probably my most detailed painting to date. Between all the carvings and detail in the back and the intricate coral reef elements in the front...not to mention the witch and the seahorse...I spent hours upon hours on this piece from start to finish. But it was so much fun to do and I enjoy seeing this piece alongside it's companion piece. I can't wait to finish the rest of the series!
Again, this was a commissioned piece, so the original is already in a great home. But prints and products are available in my Etsy shop here.

March 19, 2013 - New Painting - Morrigane
Morrigane is my first big finish of 2013! She measures 8x10" and is a commissioned painting. My client wanted me to depict traditional elements of The Morrigan mixed with personality traits of herself. They combined together to create this beautiful character that I was so excited to be able to paint!
Because this was a commissioned painting, the original has already been sold. But prints and products of this piece will soon be available in my Etsy shop here.

January 29, 2013 - Exciting News!! I'm Pregnant!!
Well, I have exciting news to share with you all! Most of you probably already saw this on my Facebook page, but I wanted to let all of you know who don't use Facebook that I'm pregnant!! My husband and I are expecting our first child sometime around July 30th. We are both super excited and thrilled at the thought of a new little person joining our family. I have been doing very well and so has the baby. We're both happy, healthy and looking forward to meeting each other this coming summer.
I wanted to let you all know not only because I wanted to share my happy news, but also because my progress on artwork has slowed some. So that means progress on commissioned paintings is not what it was before I was pregnant. Usual sickness and tiredness of pregnancy has slowed me down, but it definitely won't stop me! I'm still plugging along and doing my best to fulfill all my commitments in a timely manner.
I have put a temporary hold on adding any new commissioned paintings to my list while I get caught up a bit. I expect the hold to last maybe about a month or so. I just have a few big pieces that I need to finish up before I feel comfortable taking on more paintings. Also, because this is my first time being pregnant and I don't really know what to expect, I am no longer promising to complete commissioned paintings by a certain time. If you have a deadline that you need to meet, we can definitely discuss it, but for most personal commissions, I won't be giving time estimates. Rest assured that doesn't mean that I won't be working on your pieces! If you are a client on my commission list, I will typically spend one whole day per week working only on your piece and also provide you with progress photos. You can read more about my commission changes here. Thanks so much for your patience during this exciting time!

January 29, 2013 - New Painting - Fallon
Happy New Year everyone! This post is a little late, but I didn't want to miss the chance at wishing all of you who visit my website a Happy New Year! I also wanted to show you a painting that I finished up in December. This was actually the last painting that I finished in 2012. Her name is Fallon and it was a commissioned piece. My client developed these two characters: Fallon and her white wolf companion. I was honored that I got to bring her vision to life so to speak.
This was a really fun piece to work on and was the first wolf that I've ever painted. I also really enjoyed the earthy color scheme with the purple background, designing all her leather clothes and painting her two-toned hair. The original of Fallon is of course already claimed, but prints and products of her will be added soon! They will most likely be available in my Etsy shop here before they are added to my website store as I'm a bit slow to update my website. I hope you all enjoy Fallon!

I'm so excited to share this with you all!! Meet, Lexy, my sexy zombie rockabilly pinup girl! I just finished this painting today and it was just so much fun to work on. I loved working with all the fun, bright colors, the green skin, the roses and different textures.
This is a finished result of one of my "Adoptable Images" so the original painting is already sold. The person who "adopted" this image got to choose the colors. She made such wonderful choices and wanted to have the black hair with white streaks which was such an awesome idea. I wouldn't have thought of it myself! She also chose the different colored roses. If you're interested in one of my other images up for adoption, check the "Adoptable Images" section of my website here.
Lexy will be available as prints very soon! I'll be sure to keep you all updated. =)

October 5, 2012 - NEW Adoptable Images!
I have been having a lot of fun lately creating quick sketches that I offer up for a "Quick Sale" on my Facebook Fan Page. These quick sketches are so enjoyable for me because they allow me to explore all different sorts of styles and techniques. These sketches have all been claimed and have found homes, but I've had a lot of questions as to whether or not I would turn these images into finished paintings.
So I thought it would be really fun to offer these images up for "adoption"! What you do is purchase the image you would like a finished, original watercolor painting of. Then I will turn the image into a completed, fully shaded, 5x7" watercolor and ink painting. And the really fun part is, you get to decide what colors I use!
These original paintings are available for only $100 each! My usual starting price for 5x7" commissions are $150, so these adoptable images are available at a significantly reduced rate. Click here to see all of the available images and adopt one today!

July 10, 2012 - New Sketch Quick Sales
I have decided that I need to sketch and draw more frequently! So whenever I have a spare hour or so, I'm breaking out my sketch book and doodling. These sketches may or may not be turned into finished paintings at some point, but I have decided to offer them up for a quick sale. I'll post them on my Facebook Fan Page with the price that I'm selling them for and the first person to type SOLD in the comments will win the sketch.
This cute little fairy was my first one. She sold quickly, so she's not available right now. But I will definitely have more in the future. So make sure to "like" my fan page so that you don't miss out on any!

June 27, 2012 - New Whimsical Wash Arden #1 of 5 for Sale and Bulk Discounts
I have a new creation up for auction on my Facebook Fan Page! I call them Whimsical Washes and they're sort of a combination between a limited edition print and an original painting. I start by printing the linework onto watercolor paper. Each Whimsical Whimsy is painted by hand in light washes and then darker textures are added to the borders with watercolors. Many of my pieces will be available as a Whimsical Wash and each image will be limited editions of only 5. I have my very first one featuring Arden #1 of 5 up for auction here.
I have also decided to restructure my Etsy shop to offer discounts for buying multiples. I have my first deal up and ready to go. Now you can purchase any 3 of my 8x10 prints for only $30! They retail for $13 each, so that's a savings of $9 if you buy 3 at a time. If you want more than 3, the special is good for buying more 8x10 prints. I have over 50 images to choose from and I'm adding more all the time! Hope you enjoy this special. =)

June 26, 2012 - New Painting for Sale - Symphoni
Portrait of a Mermaid #2 - Symphoni
Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I've updated my main page here, but I have definitely still been painting and busy! To stay more up to date about what's going on in my little art world be sure to "Like" my Facebook Fan Page and also visit my blog. I post on these two places very frequently so you can see all of my newest sketches, products, paintings and more!
I am going to start to try to update my main page more often though, so I'm going to start today! Here is my new original painting Symphoni. Symphoni is part of my Portrait Series where I depict my lovely fantasy ladies in a more closeup pose. It's almost as if someone took a snapshot of them in their natural environments. I paint them usually from their waist up so that you can see more intricate details on their face, hair and clothing. I also paint them with a very fun textured watercolor background and in just a few colors.
Within my main Portrait Series, I have sub series where I paint portraits of different fantasy characters such as witches, steampunks, vampires, fairies, etc... Symphoni is Portrait of a Mermaid #2 and is the 8th portrait overall in my Portrait Series. Symphoni is painted in beautiful shades of brown, teal and purple. There is a grouping of shells and scroll work at the bottom left of the painting that adds to the musical feeling of the painting. I really enjoyed painting Symphoni and hope that you may consider adding her to your collection!
You can purchase Symphoni in my Etsy shop here.
I've also created a blog post where I share my step by step process for this piece. Check it out here.
