August 03, 2011 - Sydney - New Original Painting! Products Available!

Sydney
Sydney is the first in a new series that I'm working on. The series will feature adorable, sassy, pinup style witches perched atop fruit. All of the backgrounds will be the same design, so they are going to look fantastic framed altogether on a wall, especially in a kitchen. Sydney is the strawberry witch and she's sitting on top of a delicious, juicy strawberry. Her clothes accent the strawberry theme with adorable mini strawberries, cute striped tights, corset with strings, and a striped witch hat. Her clothes are painted in shades of red and pink with green accents to further the strawberry theme. Even her hair is painted in the color of a strawberry! I hope that you enjoy her and will consider adding her to your collection.
She is painted on an 8.5 x 11" piece of hot press watercolor paper. The image only measures 8x10", so there is a small white border to make it easier to frame. Sydney is signed, titled and dated on the back.
Sydney is now available on all my prints and products and will be sent to all the companies I license with.

June 07, 2011 - Mina - New Original Painting! Products Available!

Mina
Here is my brand new painting, Mina!! She measures 8x10" and was painted in watercolor and ink. I was thrilled to finally be able to paint a piece inspired by tattoo art. I have long admired tattoo art and felt the need to paint something that shows that admiration and this is what I came up with!
I enjoyed adding all the different tattoo inspired elements like the banner, heart, anchor, roses and the swallow tattoo on her side. I tried to keep the colors somewhat traditional to further make the piece feel tattoo inspired.
The banner reads "Return to Me." While I had something in mind when I came up with those words, I will leave it up to you to decide what they mean to you. I'm sure depending on your situation it will mean something different to each of you, but hopefully you will find meaning in it some way!
The original of Mina has been sold and will be going to a wonderful home! But prints and products of Mina are now available. She will also be submitted to all the companies that I license with so that means stamps, purses, cross stitch charts, tubes and more will soon be available as well.

May 11, 2011 - Giselle - New Original Painting! Products Available!

Giselle
I finished up a new painting in the past couple of weeks! Her name is Giselle and she's a beautiful Roman-inspired mermaid. I really enjoyed working on this painting, because it had so many details in it. My favorite part is her hair. I love all the intricate braidwork and flowers in it. I also tried to perfect my hair technique and I think that it's where I want it to be! I found that adding straight black to the shadows really sets everything off and makes the highlights pop.
I also loved the way the columns turned out. I tried a new technique for making them look water stained. I started with tan colors, but then added a very dark purple with a lot of water to make them look like they have been stained over the years. These were also some of the biggest flowers I've painted in a long time. I work in 8x10" size for the most part, so flowers typically turn out teeny tiny. But I made these more of a focal point, so I was actually able to add specific flowers like calla lilies for example.
The original painting of Giselle has been sold and is going to a wonderful home! However, you can view Giselle in my Gallery, or in my Store on all of my different products. Thanks so much for stopping by!

_March 7, 2011 - Constance - New Original Painting and Products Available!

Constance
I finished up a brand new original painting this week! Her name is Constance and she is part of my portrait series. She is Portrait of a Steampunk #2 and she is 6th overall in the entire series. She was so much fun to paint and she turned into one of my favorite paintings that I've completed so far!
Constance is wearing beautiful Victorian clothes in shades of green, purple and brown. Her flowing, brown hair is accented with a cute mini green top hat with purple feathers and details. I didn't intend to make her a St. Patrick's Day or Mardi Gras piece, but she could easily qualify for both of those as well! I must have been influenced by the upcoming holidays without even knowing it. She was so fun to paint and I really hope that you all enjoy her!
The original painting of Constance is available on Etsy for only $150!! Click here to view and purchase it.
Constance is also available on all my prints and products. Check out my website's store, or click here to view them.
